SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

BRAND STRATEGY

As a Brand Strategy intern at Youth Marketing Connection in Washington, D.C. I recruit, identify and interview ideal brand ambassadors and brainstorm strategies tailored to each client's unique voice and program mission. In addition to compiling and curating content for social media strategy, I create and provide marketing collateral to bring a client's vision and messaging to life. 

EVENT PLANNING

As the Firm Director for University of Maryland PRSSA's student-run public relations firm, InTERPret, I carried out an event for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Association to raise awareness of the dangers of alcohol and educate students on the many alcohol-free activities on campus. 97% of students attending the event believed the information provided was useful and 69% believed there were enough alcohol-free activities to attend. 

MEDIA RELATIONS

For the Grunig Gala event at University of Maryland, I helped to secure placement in top local publications including the Diamondback in both 2015 and 2016. 

INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

As a change management and communication intern for Marriott International, I successfully communicated messages to over five thousand global Marriott properties to educate employees on guest speaking points for the mobile application. From luxury properties to budget extended-stays, I adapted the speaking points based on brand voice and provided visual elements to further enhance the message.


DESIGN

I am experienced using design tools from Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft as well as emerging design tools; Canva, Prezi, Weebly, Wix and Emma. At Marriott International, I created templates and style guides across platforms for Global Operations Project Services for cohesive communication among initiatives.

SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY

I helped InTERPret PR to carry out a social media campaign for the Grunig Gala which garnered over 11 thousand online impressions in under three weeks. I also used Hootestuite to manage Darfur Women Action Group's Twitter and Facebook account to engage and interact with the organization's core audience. 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

I was responsible for research and pitching office-wide a business development pitch for Tarte Cosmetics at Youth Marketing Connection in Washington, D.C. I also am responsible for procuring potential clients for InTERPret PR resulting in four new business relationships with clients.
